On Tuesday, August 18, 2009, motorists should expect delays on I-190 and Route 33, the Kensington Expressway, between the hours of 7:00am-9:00am and 4:30pm-6:30pm, due to the Get Motivated seminar at the HSBC Arena.
Over 15,000 people are expected to attend the seminar, which will feature influential speakers such as Zig Ziglar, Gen. Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Joe Montana, and more. The patrons attending the HSBC Arena event combined with the daily commuters are expected to cause traffic delays and parking issues. Motorists should consider using Park & Rides at Main and Bailey near the UB South campus and at the LaSalle train station. The use of public transportation and carpooling is also encouraged.
For patrons of the HSBC Arena, there will be free satellite parking at the UB North campus in Amherst and the Amherst Pepsi Center, with free shuttle busses to and from the arena. Parking at UB North campus is available in the following lots: Stadium lot, Special Event lot, and Center for Tomorrow lot.
