Rod Stewart’s 2007 North American tour rolled into HSBC Arena on Friday, February 16, 2007.

The tour celebrated Rod’s return to his rock roots with his #1 chart-topping album Still The Same…Great Rock Classics of Our Time and featured all of the classic hits from his more than three decade career. In addition, for the first time in over a decade, Rod’s stage was designed in the round, featuring a rotating circular center stage that gave fans an intimate 360° view of the concert.

Stewart’s 2007 North American tour was a culmination of the legendary singer’s nearly four decades of hits from the seminal Every Picture Tells A Story to his first #1 album Blondes Have More Fun spanning through Out Of Order, Downtown Train and culminating with his newest chart topping rock album Still The Same…Great Rock Classics of Our Time. Stewart’s trademark voice has successfully commanded nearly every genre of music including folk, rock, soul, R&B, blues and more, even managing to breathe a unique modernity into the classics.

STILL THE SAME…GREAT ROCK CLASSICS OF OUR TIME was hailed as an incredibly strong and passionate return to form for Stewart. The album reflects his thoughtful approach to the selected tracks crafted by some of the best songwriters of our time including Bob Dylan (“If Not For You”), Van Morrison (“Crazy Love”), Bob Seger (“Still the Same”) and John Fogerty (“Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”). Several of Stewart’s other selections sound like they were written for his signature, inimitable rasp in the first place, like Bonnie Tyler’s “It’s a Heartache” and “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” a 1976 hit for Elvin Bishop.
